Cat5e patch panel mainly refer to the distribution frames that specifically meet the gigabit transmission performance. Now they are also commonly used in local area networks. Cat5e patch panel can easily provide the communication bandwidth of 155Mbps and have the potential to upgrade to gigabit bandwidth. So it becomes the first choice for the horizontal cabling.
The Cat5e patch panel can be divided into shielded and unshielded type. And the termination could be coupler(feed through type) or 110 punch down. Most local area networks use unshielded type (UTP) as transmission medium to network.
